SHOP WITH A COP
Bringing joy into the holiday season, teaching young people the importance of giving, and helping children get to know one of our local police officers.
This year the Wichita Police & Fire Foundation and the Wichita Police Department will team up with Walmart to hold the 2023 “Shop With A Cop” event. Thanks to the Walmart Foundation Community Grant Program 20+ underserved children will get to shop for a Christmas gifts.
Children identified through WPD Random Acts of Kindness submissions, the Juvenile Intervention Unit & WPD Community Policing Units will be paired with a Wichita police officer who will accompany the child around the store and help select an appropriate gift. Once gift(s) have been purchased, participants will enjoy snacks and visit with Santa.
This is a great way to bring some joy into the holiday season, to teach young people the importance of giving, and for the child to get to know one of our local police officers. Thank you in advance for your help and the opportunity to help the kids in our community.
We are currently seeking donations for the 2024 “Shop With A Cop”.
Our goal is to make this a yearly event that encourages positive interactions between the
Wichita Police Department and the community they serve through a variety of enriching activities.
